A male elephant is commonly referred to as a ‘bull’. In the elephant world, male elephants are distinct from females, known as ‘cows’, in several ways. Bulls are generally larger and have larger tusks than their female counterparts. They tend to be more solitary, especially after reaching maturity, whereas female elephants often live in family groups with their offspring. During mating season, bulls will roam to find females to breed with, showcasing their strength and dominance in various ways.
