The heart of arthropods is located dorsally. In arthropods, the heart is part of the open circulatory system and is positioned along the dorsal side of the body. This placement allows the heart to pump hemolymph (the arthropod equivalent of blood) throughout the body cavity, supplying nutrients and oxygen to the tissues.
