What States Are in the Mountain Standard Time Zone?

The Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone is a time zone that is seven hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-7). Several states in the United States observe MST. These states include:

  • Arizona (most areas, excluding the Navajo Nation)
  • Colorado
  • Idaho (southern part)
  • Montana
  • New Mexico
  • Utah
  • Wyoming

In addition to these states, some parts of Canada and Mexico also observe Mountain Time. It’s important to note that while most of these states stick to Mountain Standard Time during the winter, many of them, like Colorado and New Mexico, switch to Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) during daylight saving time.
