Australia is surrounded by several bodies of water, but two major oceans do not touch its shores: the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Arctic Ocean is located far to the north of Australia, bordered by various continents including North America and Europe, making it geographically distant from Australia. On the other hand, the Atlantic Ocean lies to the east of the Americas and to the west of Europe and Africa. Australia is situated in the southern hemisphere, with the Indian Ocean to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east, thus neither the Arctic nor the Atlantic ocean directly impacts Australia’s coastal geography.
