The third Statue of Liberty is located in Paris, France. This statue is a smaller replica of the original Statue of Liberty in New York City. It stands on the Île aux Cygnes, a man-made island in the Seine River. The statue was gifted to the city of Paris by the American community in 1889 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. It faces west, towards its larger counterpart in New York, symbolizing the friendship between France and the United States.
