Sperm and urine share the same passages in the male reproductive and urinary systems. Specifically, they both travel through the urethra, which is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body and also serves as the passage for semen during ejaculation.
The urethra is divided into several sections, including the prostatic urethra, which runs through the prostate gland and receives sperm from the seminal vesicles, and the penile urethra, which extends through the penis. This dual function can sometimes lead to confusion, as both sperm and urine exit the body through the same opening, but they are produced and transported in different parts of the body. While urine is produced in the kidneys and stored in the bladder, sperm is produced in the testes and transported through a series of ducts before reaching the urethra.
