Ribosomes are made out of a macromolecule called ribonucleic acid (RNA) and proteins. Specifically, they are composed of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and various proteins. The rRNA forms the core of the ribosome and plays a crucial role in the synthesis of proteins by translating messenger RNA (mRNA) into amino acid sequences. The proteins associated with rRNA help in stabilizing the structure and facilitating the ribosome’s function in protein synthesis.
