The world’s tallest mammal is the giraffe. Giraffes are known for their extraordinary height, with adult males growing up to 18 feet tall, while females are typically a bit shorter, reaching around 14 to 16 feet. Their long necks, which can be over 6 feet long, allow them to reach high branches in trees for feeding.
Besides their impressive height, giraffes possess long legs and a distinctive coat pattern made up of irregular patches that help with camouflage in the African savannah. Despite their size, giraffes are quite gentle and socialize in groups known as towers. Their height not only helps them access food that other herbivores can’t reach but also serves as a vantage point for spotting predators in the wild.
