Lions primarily inhabit the grasslands, savannas, and open woodlands of Africa, with a small population in India. The typical temperature in these habitats can vary greatly, but generally ranges between 20°C (68°F) to 30°C (86°F) during the day.
However, the temperatures can soar higher in some regions, sometimes reaching up to 40°C (104°F) or more, especially during the dry season. At night, the temperatures can drop significantly, sometimes falling to as low as 10°C (50°F).
This variation in temperature affects the lions’ behavior, as they are more active during the cooler parts of the day, such as dawn and dusk, to avoid the intense heat of midday.
