The opposite of evaporation is condensation.
Evaporation is the process where liquid water transforms into water vapor, typically when it is heated. This process occurs when molecules within the liquid gain enough energy to break free from the surface and become gaseous. In contrast, condensation is the process where water vapor cools and changes back into liquid water. This typically happens when the temperature drops or when water vapor comes into contact with a cooler surface, causing the molecules to lose energy and cluster together to form a liquid.
For example, on a cold glass of water, you might see droplets of water forming on the outside of the glass. This is condensation occurring as water vapor in the warmer air comes into contact with the cool surface of the glass, transforming back into liquid droplets.
