The capital of Monaco is Monaco-Ville. Monaco-Ville is often referred to as simply ‘Monaco’ and is one of the four traditional quarters of the principality. It is located on a rocky promontory extending into the Mediterranean Sea. Monaco-Ville is home to many of the country’s most important landmarks, including the Prince’s Palace, where the ruling monarch resides, and the Monaco Cathedral. Despite its small size, Monaco-Ville plays a significant role in the cultural and political life of the principality.
