Skeletal muscle is a type of muscle tissue that is connected to bones and is responsible for voluntary movements. An example of skeletal muscle is the biceps brachii, which is located in the upper arm.
The biceps brachii allows for the flexion of the elbow and plays a significant role in lifting and pulling movements. It can be controlled consciously, which makes it a prime example of skeletal muscle functioning in our daily activities. Unlike other muscle types, such as smooth or cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle is striated in appearance and is composed of long, multinucleated fibers.
