A baby beaver is called a kit. This term is commonly used for the young of the beaver species, as well as other similar animals. Beaver kits are born in the spring or summer, typically after a gestation period of about 105 days.
Upon birth, kits are covered in a soft, downy fur and are relatively small, usually weighing around a pound.
