Anglerfish, with their unique bioluminescent lure, are fascinating creatures that primarily find themselves at the top of the food chain in their deep-sea habitats. However, like many marine animals, they have predators.
One of the known predators of anglerfish includes larger fish species. Some deep-sea sharks and larger bony fish will prey on anglerfish when the opportunity arises. Additionally, certain species of crustaceans may target the young or smaller anglerfish.
Despite their adaptations and hunting strategies, anglerfish are not invulnerable and face risks from larger marine life that exploit their relatively sluggish swimming habits and other vulnerabilities.
