Singapore is an island city-state located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is surrounded by several countries and bodies of water. To the north, Singapore is bordered by Malaysia, specifically the state of Johor. The Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Tuas Second Link connect Singapore to Malaysia. To the south, Singapore faces the Singapore Strait, which separates it from Indonesia’s Riau Islands. The country is also surrounded by the Strait of Malacca to the west and the South China Sea to the east. These geographical features and neighboring countries play a significant role in Singapore’s trade and economic activities.
