Caterpillars are the larval stage of butterflies. During their life cycle, they undergo a process called metamorphosis, which transforms them into butterflies. This process involves several stages:
- Egg Stage: The life cycle begins when a butterfly lays eggs on a host plant.
- Larval Stage (Caterpillar): After hatching, the caterpillar spends most of its time eating and growing. It molts several times as it grows.
