Is Volume an Intensive or Extensive Property? Explain.

Volume is classified as an extensive property. This means that the value of volume depends on the amount of substance present. For instance, if you have a substance divided into two equal parts, the total volume of the two parts combined will be the same as the volume of the original whole. In contrast, intensive properties, like temperature and pressure, remain constant regardless of the amount of substance. So, even if you add more water to a pot, the temperature of the water can remain constant, making temperature intensive while volume changes with quantity, making it extensive.
