Daytime temperatures can soar above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in the summer months, making it one of the hottest places on earth. However, it is important to note that temperatures can drop significantly at night, sometimes reaching as low as 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). This drastic temperature variation is mainly due to its arid conditions and the lack of vegetation, which causes rapid heat loss after sunset. Therefore, while the Namib Desert is mostly hot during the day, it can also experience cold temperatures at night.
