Stanley Yelnats, the main character in Louis Sachar’s novel Holes, is 13 years old. He is sent to a juvenile detention camp called Camp Green Lake as a result of a wrongful accusation—he was accused of stealing a pair of sneakers. Throughout the story, we see Stanley grow and change as he navigates the challenges of camp life and uncovers his family’s history.
