The construction of the Statue of Liberty involved approximately 100 workers. These individuals were responsible for various tasks, ranging from the design phase to the assembly of the statue itself. Most notably, the famous French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi led the project, and the interior iron framework was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who would later gain fame for the Eiffel Tower.
The statue was built in France before being disassembled and shipped to the United States in 1885. Once it arrived, additional workers were needed to reassemble the statue on Liberty Island. The collaborative efforts of these workers and artisans from different backgrounds resulted in the magnificent symbol of freedom that stands today.
