These chapters are fundamental to the Islamic faith and are recited during prayers and other important occasions. The longest surah is Al-Baqarah, which has 286 verses, while the shortest is Al-Kawthar, containing just three verses. The organization of the Quran is not chronological but rather based on a specific structure that has been preserved since it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad over 1,400 years ago.
