Do Zoroastrians Believe in Jesus?

Zoroastrians do not believe in Jesus as the Son of God or as a savior. Zoroastrianism is one of the world’s oldest monotheistic religions, founded by the prophet Zoroaster (or Zarathustra) in ancient Persia. It centers on the worship of Ahura Mazda, the supreme deity, and emphasizes the dualistic nature of the universe, where good and evil are in constant conflict.

In Zoroastrianism, the concept of a savior or messiah is different from that in Christianity. Zoroastrians believe in the coming of a savior figure known as the Saoshyant, who will help Ahura Mazda in the final battle against evil and bring about the renewal of the world. However, this figure is not identified with Jesus.

While Zoroastrians respect Jesus as a moral teacher and a prophet, they do not accept the Christian doctrines of the Trinity, the divinity of Jesus, or his role in salvation. Their beliefs are rooted in their own scriptures, primarily the Avesta, which does not include any reference to Jesus.
