In anatomy, the terms inferior and anterior are used to describe the relative positions of body parts.
Inferior refers to a position that is lower or situated below another part of the body. For example, the stomach is inferior to the heart; it is located lower in the body compared to the heart.
Anterior describes a position that is situated toward the front of the body. For instance, the breastbone (sternum) is anterior to the spine; it is located at the front side of the body in relation to the spine, which is positioned at the back.
