Big Ben is often thought to be the biggest clock in the world, but that is not entirely accurate. Big Ben is actually the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. The clock tower itself is officially known as the Elizabeth Tower.
While Big Ben is one of the most famous clocks globally, it is not the largest. The title of the biggest clock goes to the Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This clock tower is part of a complex of seven skyscrapers and features the largest clock face in the world. The clock face is 43 meters in diameter, significantly larger than Big Ben’s clock face, which is 7 meters in diameter.
So, while Big Ben is iconic and holds a special place in history, it is not the biggest clock in the world.
