The Rocky Mountains and the Andes Mountains are not directly connected. The Rocky Mountains are located in North America, stretching from the northernmost part of British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the United States. On the other hand, the Andes Mountains are situated in South America, running along the western edge of the continent from Venezuela to Chile and Argentina.
While both mountain ranges are part of the larger American Cordillera, which is a chain of mountain ranges that extends along the western side of the Americas, they are separated by a significant distance. The gap between the southern end of the Rocky Mountains and the northern end of the Andes is filled by the Central American Volcanic Arc and other geological features. Therefore, the Rocky Mountains and the Andes Mountains are distinct ranges and do not form a continuous chain.
